 Things to consider:

  Depending upon what is installed on your computer, it is possible that you may have more than one pop-up blocker running. You will have to disable all of them for your courseware to operate properly. You may have a toolbar installed, but have the browser configured to not show it. You can make sure by doing either of the following:  Click your browser’s “View” menu, then select “Toolbars.” Check to see if there are toolbars in this list. Open your computer’s “Control Panel,” accessible by clicking the “Start” button in the lower left-hand corner. Select “Add/Remove Programs.” Once a list of your programs/add-ons is compiled, you’ll be able to see if a toolbar is installed.     AOL Toolbar The AOL toolbar appears in the browser as a line of options above your browser window. To enable popups, click the “Blocked” icon. Once this is done, popups should be enabled until you click on the icon again. Firefox To disable pop-ups in Firefox, click on the “Tools” menu at the top of the browser window, then select “Options.” Select the “Content” tab, and uncheck the box next to the text “Block pop-up windows.” Google Toolbar The Google toolbar appears in the browser as a line of options above your browser window. To enable pop-ups, click the “blocked” icon; once you do so, the text should change to “Site popups allowed.” Once this is done, popups should be enabled until you click on the icon again. Internet Explorer 6 To disable pop-ups in IE6, click on the “Tools” menu at the top of the browser, and then select “Pop-up Blocker,” and “Turn Off Pop-up Blocker.” Internet Explorer 7 Click the “Tools” menu at the top of the browser, then click “Pop-up Blocker.” Select “Turn Off Pop-Up Blocker.” Confirm by clicking the Yes button. Once this is done, popups should be enabled until you change these settings. MSN Toolbar The MSN toolbar appears in the browser as a line of options above your browser window. To enable popups, click the “Pop-ups Blocked” icon and then the “Allow Pop-ups” option. Once this is done, popups should be blocked until you click on the icon again. Norton Internet Security Open the main Norton control panel by clicking on the “Start” button and selecting “Programs” then “Norton Internet Security/Firewall.” Click on the “Ad Blocking” line, and then the “Turn Off” button. Once this is done, popups should be enabled until you change these settings. Opera From the “Tools” menu, select the “Preferences” option. Click on the “Windows” option in the left-hand list. Select the “Open all pop-ups” option in the “Pop-ups” list, and then click “OK” to apply the change. Safari Click “Edit” at the top of the browser window, and select “Preferences.” Click on the security tab, then uncheck the box next to “Block pop-up windows.” Once this is done, popups should be enabled until you change these settings. Yahoo! Toolbar The Yahoo! toolbar appears in the browser as a line of options above your browser window. To disable pop-up blocking, click on the down arrow next to the pop-blocker icon, which looks like a box behind a gold shield. Click on the “Enable Pop-Up Blocker” option to remove the checkmark beside it. Once this is done, popups should be enabled until you change these settings.
